Half way down the main pedestrian street which leads from the Land Gate to the Namık Kemal square, this unassuming
little café looks like a normal street café with its tables and parasols outside, local shopkeepers and tourists sitting
and enjoying a coffee in the sun. Hasan serves teas, coffees, cold drinks and beers etc. and it is a great place to
chill and people-watch.
But go inside and a whole new funky world opens up - Retro Café doubles as a music shop; the "I ❤ the 80s" sign
over the door and the rainbow-painted ceiling give you a taste of what is to come. Then you enter the inside lounge
with its crazy ostriches painted on the walls, a vintage bicycle hangs on the wall over an old piano and CDs cover every
space not already taken up with musical instruments. Here, if you have not guessed, is a haven for music-lovers and
regular concerts are held inside and out in the street. A quirky venue not to be missed.
