This meyhane or typical tavern is set in a traditional-style Cypriot house which has been lovingly
restored and decorated with objects of daily life passed down through the generations. Admire the collection
of carved wooden boats, see the shelf of jars and pans that grandma used to cook with, the water jars with their wicker
covering, the traditionally-embroidered table-cloths and curtains. Everything about Duayen Meyhanesi
makes you feel as if you have gone back in time and you are walking into an old Cypriot house.
Of course, in such a setting the food can only be authentic Cypriot family recipes, tried and tested throughout
the years. Delicious grills are cooked on the open oven in the centre of the table and served with mezes and salads and
freshly baked breads. You can also eat out in the sumptous gardens surrounded by palm trees, impressive prickly pears and
paths bordered with lavendar bushes. A meyhane with a diference.
